A life-long Michigan resident, Dr. Engers grew up on a small horse farm outside of Ann Arbor, often accompanying her father, an equine veterinarian, on farm calls. She earned her BA in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College in 2003 and her DVM from Michigan State University in 2007. Dr. Engers spent the next 10 years in companion animal practice advancing her clinical skills and developing special interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and emergency medicine. In 2017, Dr. Engers returned to her alma mater and joined the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine faculty, where she led the Small Animal Primary Care Service and instructed senior veterinary students in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry. Dr. Engers then went on to serve as the Chief Medical Officer for a regional hospital group, supporting and advancing the medical quality of 22+ hospitals and over 50 veterinarians.
Dr. Engers currently resides in South Lyon with her two-year-old daughter and can typically be found in the middle of some DIY home improvement project. She also enjoys showing horses, gardening, camping, and backpacking, and loves to travel.
